My DIY Face Serum

My goal is to age as gracefully as I can without the use of chemicals on my skin. And one of the ways  I hope to do that is to use my essential oils to make my own skin care products so that as I age I know my skin is being well nourished with out any toxins. Most of my face has normal skin and gives me little trouble, but my chin area shows the first signs of trouble, so I handle that area with a little more caution. Although it has been a lot better since finding out the foods that I’m sensitive too and eliminating them from my diet I still cheat every now and then with chocolate, (a girl can only handle so many limitations am I right?) and that causes my chin to rebel.

This face serum has done wonders for my skin so I thought I’d share it with you. A word of caution though our skin is as different as our personalities so you might want to do some research on the carrier oils and essential oils that I’m using and make sure that they will fit your skin type. Before I show you the recipe I’m going to go through why I chose each ingredient.

Aloe Vera gel: It is a natural moisturizer. Contains two hormones auxin and gibberellins that provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Gibberellins also stimulate growth of new cells quickly with minimal scarring.

Rose hip oil: Contains vitamins E,C,D and B carotene a form of vitamin A. All are rich in antioxidants that help fight free radicals. Also rich in essential fatty acids which help with cellular membrane and tissue regeneration.

Frankincense, Lavender, Jasmine & carrot seed: Frankincense and lavender both come in you starter kit and are fine on their own. But I’m adding carrot seed which is added goodness for my skin as well as jasmine because I got it with my rewards points and it is great for the skin. I encourage you to look up the properties of the these oils for yourself to see if they are a good fit for you.

If you don’t have the starter kit and are interested in getting a kit or want to know why I chose Young Living head over to my landing page.
