Have you heard about bullet coffee yet? It’s when you put grass fed butter and coconut oil in your coffee. It helps give your brain and body a boost. The fat in the butter helps you metabolize the caffeine slower so that the energy lasts longer and the MTC in the coconut oil helps support your brain. I don’t actually drink caffeinated coffee, but my husband loves bullet coffee. I like flavor in my coffee and I was thinking of ways to add my oils to my coffee. This is what I came up with.
Essential oils mix with really well with vegetable oils like coconut oil. So I decided to try and mix coconut oil with my essential oils for our coffee this winter. Here are some ideas I want to try. We have tried the Thieve and it was yummy plus we got an immunity boost with our coffee.
The essential oils that would be yummy mixed with 1/4 cup coconut oil. A lot of this has to do with how strong you want your flavor so start low and add more until you have it as strong as you want it.
- Thieves: 3-5 drops
- Peppermint: 2-3 drops
- Orange: 3-5 drops
- Gingerbread: 3 drops cinnamon, 2 drops clove, 1drop nutmeg, 1drop orange
- Cinnamon: 2-4 drops
- Orange Spice: 2-3 drops cinnamon, 2-3 drops orange
+1-2 tablespoons of grass fed butter
+1-2 tablespoons of your new coconut oil mix
Store your coconut oil mix in a sealed jar on the counter next to your coffee. Let me know what your favorite is.
