I’ve used this hot chocolate recipe for at least five years, but I’ve never gone beyond the basic except to add coconut whip cream or marshmallows. I love this recipe because it doesn’t use cane sugar — it only uses three ingredients unless you make it fancy and it tastes yummy. I sometime just make one cup when I want a pick me up but don’t want to share. It also keeps well in the refrigerator and makes good chocolate milk in the summer or add a splash to your coffee in the morning.
Recently I made chocolate truffles and my mother-in-law mentioned that she loved the chocolate orange combo the best, which got us talking about other orange chocolate combos that we liked. Now this is silly, but even though I love the orange chocolate combo, I never thought about putting orange into my hot cocoa or mocha. So the next time I made my cocoa I decided to give it a try. Boy was it yummy, so here you go a super easy yummy hot chocolate recipe.
